Started Depriming and Resizing

Post by g2072 on Thu Oct 20, 2011 1:10 pm

I've just started depriming and resizing on my single stage Hornady press. It was pretty simple to set up the depriming die but the next few may be a different story. One thing I've noticed is that the primer catcher doesn't work very well. They fly all over creation. Is it normal that the nickle brass is harder to resize than the regular brass. Also, somethime the old primer doesn't come all the way out. I have my depriming pin about 1/4 inch down. Do I just keep lowering it until all the primers come all the way out.

Sometimes I have to give rifle brass a second, mini stroke to drop the primer out. It has pretty well become habit to double stroke them.
