I stooped to at Dicks Sporting. You are correct not alot of firearms but I was told by Daniel in the firearms section. If you don't see what you want or need let him know and they will get it in. They are open to suggestions on what to stock. Academy Sports will be a whole lot better. They do sell handguns and reload supplies. They both have better pricing then Gander Mountains on the same items. Just my .02

I know a guy that sometimes works in the firearms section at the Dick's on Lakeland and he said they can order just about anything. He was telling me about a nice Savage / Leupold combo they had available. (not in store)

Normally their ammo is way overpriced, so I normally don't even look at their ammo, guess I'll have to pay attention this year. Bass Pro Shop's ammo and reloading supplies are also over priced.

Academy had good black friday sales last year. If I recall, Rossi .38 revolvers around $250, Diamondback .380s for $325ish, Heritage .22 revolvers for $125ish, and I don't remember the price but WWB in all calibers was greatly discounted.

I also visited Dick's in Hattiesburg. All I have to say is, Gander Mountain is safe........ The firearms cleaning and whatnot department was so dark you needed a flashlight to see what they had. Was looking for a 22 caliber jag and they did not have one.

Academy is better than the others. Got a rifle from Dick's on sale, good experience. I had decided to give them a second chance (ok, the price was right). The time before I went, I waited about 15 minutes at the and walked out. Never had anything for Gander Mt.

I have never bought anything from Dicks, Academy usually has good prices, better than Bass Pro. But I don't know about the guys working the gun counter at Acadmey, while I was looking around today, one the guys answered the phone and whoever it was wanted a laser boresighter, the gun counter guy told person on the phone "we don't sell laser boresighters". I was standing there looking at about 20 of them hanging above the scopes. scratch

Dick's has some good prices on some rifles and every now and then, tney'll put some of their ammo on sale. Academy sells pistols and ammo, but they can be high too. Been looking at their Sunday ads and they sell Monarch brass cased .223 for $9.99 a box. That's higher than the Remington .223 at Dick's. I have not found any reloading supplies at the Academy in Jackson.

they do sell handguns and I have bought one from them. Although they do not sell reloading supplies as previously stated, unless meaning pyrodex. Not in any disrespect, " southerconnection" the academy on county line rd closest to me does not sell reloading supplies.

I have bought a gun from dick's before, not a overall joyful experience. The clerk tried to sell me the wrong gun three times, and it took them two hours to run the federal background check. The clerk was very nice and at no fault of his own, the system they used was simply antiquated.
