Got a Moisin Nagant 91/30 today

When I first shot my 1916 m91 the bolt stuck and I had to use a wrench to get enough leverage to open it back up. I researched it and I found that when fired the thin layer of cosmoline in the chamber melted then bonded to the shell and froze. it was effectively glued in place! The best solution for that is to get like a 410 or 20 gauge bore brush and wrap it with cleaning patches then soaking that in bore cleaner. Then attach to a single section of one of those screw together cleaning rods with the other end in a hand drill. Insert it into the chamber and let it spin slowly and repeat it several times. This helps Alot but there will be minor stickiness until it all comes out.

Just picked up my 3rd one. It is a 1945 Mod 44. Pretty nice bore. Good blue. But the stock leaves a lot to desire. Gonna strip it down and see what I can do with it. These will be keepsakes for the grandkids. These old eyes don't let me shoot open sights very good. As I posted earlier. "These things are addictive."

WD40 on everything then more WD40 on the metal. Wipe down all and repeat as required. Denatured alcohol will remove any shellac in the wrong place. Wipe down all metal with any good gun oil and clean off the excess. Just did two M44s yesterday and they came out great.
