Military stationed in MS, Can we get a MS CCW permit.
I am stationed here for 3 years with my wife(capt. Air Force). I am in school full time and i am Happy to hear about HB 506. I have a NC CCW permit. from what i understand out of state permits cannot get the certificate under HB 506. So it looks like i need to get a MS permit and take the approved class to get the right to carry on school property.
What are the steps or procedures for military stationed in MS getting a MS permit.
Just IMO. In NC we had to take an 8 hr class and shoot 50 round with 40 hits in a b-27? Target at 21 feet to get the permit. I'm all for firearms training and everyone needs as much professional instruction as they can get no matter how much they shoot. So I have no problem with the class at all.

Should be no problem to get a permit---not sure about the enhanced permit.

The Department of Public Safety shall issue a license if the applicant:
(a) Is a resident of the state and has been a resident for twelve (12) months or longer immediately preceding the filing of the application. However, this residency requirement may be waived, provided the applicant possesses a valid permit from another state, is active military personnel stationed in Mississippi or is a retired law enforcement officer establishing residency in the state;
