Frankford Arsenal Quick-n-Ez Case Tumbler ...anyone have one...and Smart Reloader issue

Post by Tennjed on Thu Oct 27, 2011 4:48 pm

Just ordered a Frankford Arsenal Quick-n-Ez Case Tumbler from amazon for less than $36 shipped. It gets good reviews on Amazon but wanted to see what you posters thought of it.

I had a Smart Reloader Nano tumber that worked fine....for 3 months. It now barely shakes and will not work. First exp. with smart reloader equipment and will now stay away form them

I've been happy with mine, not used heavily, though. Neutral

I have gone through a couple of them .... 1 that did not last very long and another that lasted for years. However, have also gone through one of the Lyman Magnum tumblers ... My belief is that tumblers are all about the same. In the long run, think the ones from Harbor Freight may be just as good -- and cheaper, also.

I have the nano and it's worked fine but has not been used heavily. I was told by someone familar with the brand that the wiring is prone to be shaken loose over time. Has been decent "getting started" tumbler but limited in how many cases it can handle well. Once when I had it very full of 9mm, it stopped running, possible an overheating safety fuse. Cut back on amount of cases and no problems since. When it eventually dies will get a bigger/betterquality one. Almost bought one of their single stage reloading presses at the gun show for $15.00 but heard from a varety of sources they start falling apart.

I have one. It's loud and slow, but it works. My lyman holds twice as much brass, it's much faster and quiet.

I had a Nano Tumbler until it quit working properly. One of the screws sheared off and I could not get it tighened back up. Worked well for me as a beginning tumbler and it tumbled several thousand rounds. I have a Frankford Arsenal tumbler now that works really well and I can put a lot more brass in it. I also have the Quick-N-EZ Media Seperator. It works well enough, I just wish it was a little more sturdy.

Is the Franford Arsenal much loader than the Nano?

It is a little louder. Definitely a deeper humming noise. I use mine either outside or in the garage. It does a great job and the price wasn't too bad (considering that I had to get it when the Nano quit).

jbp and I have two Lyman 2500 Magnum tumblers. The first one wore holes in the bowl from the vibrations after cleaning and polishing about 60 to 70 thousand brass so we got the second one and also got a replacement bowl for the old one. We use the new one to final polish processed brass and the old one to clean range brass. They have never failed to do the job.

Get a good pad to put under your tumbler. It will isolate the tumbler from the harder surface and make it a little more quiet.
