American Poll on another Assault Weapons Ban

interesting article here in regard to the American opinion on assault weapons.
with the possible re-election of the current POTUS and possible nomination of the Republican candidate Mitt Romney...Americans are potentially facing a presidential ballot with 2 (not 1) candidates who do not support the 2nd Amendment like it should be supported.

Re: American Poll on another Assault Weapons Ban
Good news! And good article.
I had read it myself earlier in the news. (I read several news web sites several times each day.)
Re: Romney
He was on Mississippi Talk Radio last time he ran (about 4 years ago). He had just bought a lifetime NRA membership. He voiced support for the Second Amendment, but you could tell that he knew his Mississippi audience.
I do not trust the guy. He supported tighter gun control and Romney-care medicine.
They say that he is a "weather vane" type candidate: He points in whatever direction his audience goes.
Still, if my only choice is him or Obama, I'll hold my nose again and vote against Obama.

No truer words have been spoken. He is not my first choice, but Obama is surely my last.

I wonder if this national attitude will serve as any sort of barricade in a possible second term for the POTUS when the gun lobby gets ready to take a gut shot?
