Backpack suggestions

Post by Joe S. on Sun Oct 30, 2011 10:36 pm

I have about worn out my 15 year old Jansport I bought in college so I'm thinking about a new backpack. Don't want anything hiker size with a frame but a little larger than my jansport with some extra pockets would be helpful. Looking at the Maxpedition Typhoon. Think that would be a good size. Anyone have an opinion on that particular pack? Other suggestions.

Joe
I got 4 different packs. Starting with an Alice pack and got some updated ones. I really like one I got that I put medical supplies in, you can lay it down and completely open it up for easy access. Check out the used ones.

I visited www.onebag.com before I went to Europe for a week. I lived out of a carry on size bag/backpack with no problems.

I've had this one for 5 years. The only downside is that I put too much in it. Every year, I consider getting a new one, but this one keeps on going. I use it primarily to carry my laptop and other electronic gadgets/cords. It also holds enough clothes for a 2 night trip. It has a bunch of pockets in various sizes so my stuff stays organized. It isn't very "tactical" if that's what you are looking for, but it is suitable for most business casual environments.

I also have a couple of those LAPG 3 day packs that I use for dirtier environments, but I don't think they are as tough as the Max or the Swissgear.

For whatever its worth, I have a few for sale in the classifieds. Mostly Oakley, which I find to be great bags.

have a friend who has bought this brand before so when a guy on another forum suggested them, i jumped. seems like a good deal. got one coming. if they last as good as my buddy's pants have lasted, i should be good to go... if not, only $30 aint bad for a chance and i can order the Maxpedition later...

thanks

I use the tan one for my BOB and the green one rides on my bike mostly or gets used for the range (before I got the Midway bag)
