We owe it to the many who have fought for it over the years.

The h*** you say? Watching all the ads, I thought it was the first Tuesday in Nov. It is after the Tuesday after the first Monday in Nov. I had to look it up, thought ya'll was a bunch of liberal communist pinko's set on denying my rights but you are right. Well I take it back (at least the part on ya'll keeping me from voting). Good thing, I'd hate to gotten into a fist fight with the Preacher from my precinct after me beating on the door demanding to vote.

Look at the bright side, now you have a whole week to pick names from the local cemetery to vote under!

You may be joking, but there are folks who vote their friends' or relatives' ballots.

Son is away at college, etc.

One of my ex-wives (I'll call her "Mary") was registered in Warren County. She moved to Tennessee, then Kentucky, then Georgia, then Florida.

Every time my subsequent wife went to vote, the poll worker asked her if she was Mary. She could easily have voted Mary's ballot.

It invariably resulted in a fight with me when I got home. You know how women are; somehow it was my fault.

I tried to get Mary's name removed from the poll book, but was told that only Mary, herself, could do it due to a Justice Department rule.

I explained to no avail that Mary was long gone and would never be back in Warren County and deleting her name from the Warren County poll book was NOT one of her high priorities.

I finally did the only thing a man can do: I moved and divorced the subsequent wife.

NRA_guy, it was a tongue-in-cheek joke; dead men voting is one of the reasons I support voter ID. One of the other reasons is exactly what you mentioned.
