stock for a ak47

stock for a ak47

I'm not to familiar with a ak47 but i plan on buying one.the guy selling it told me it does not have a stock and i would like one. so the question is can i put a stock on a ak47 that did not come with a stock?

What type of AK is it? If it's a standard AK, that used to have a stock, then yes. If it's an AK pistol, like a Draco, then no. Those are sold as pistols and it is illegal to add a stock to them without jumping through some NFA hoops.

he said its got a 16'' barrel so it wouldn't be considered a pistol? should there be anything i need to look for,how would i know from looking at it if it will fit a stock? i'm going to look at it this weekend hopefully to buy it.
