Already have an out of state permit - can I get a MS permit for renewal fee?

Title really says it all. I have a valid GA permit and I'd like to get a MS permit now that I live here. Think I can get the renewal rate at $82, or will I have to go for the full $100 "new permit" rate?

I am pretty sure that you will have to pay the original permit fee in order to get into the Mississippi CCW database.

You can tell that a permit is a renewal because the state mails you a notice of renewal.

How much does it cost to get an Individual Firearm Permit?
The fee for a first time Individual Firearm Permit is $132.00. The permit is valid for five (5) years. About 90 days prior to the permit's expiration date, a renewal package is sent to the permit holder. The renewal fee is $82.00. There is a $15 late fee for expired permits. A permit expired for 6 months or more is deemed permanently expired and the permit holder must reapply.

You also have to be a resident for a certain period unless youre military or law. I think it's 6 months or a year

The 1 year equirenment is waived if you already have a permit from another state. However at least when I got mine after moving from TN tehy tak your old permit and you can not carry untill the new one is issued (45 days).
