Looks like the chief had been taking guns off of the people he arrested and putting them in his personal inventory.

He had a darned fine collection with several full autos. Haven't heard a lot since the initial report, but they made it sound like the guns were purchased through the local Sherriff's dept. I think there were over 70 guns in question. Bad thing is, he'd have probably gotten away with it, if it hadn't been for such a small department ordering all those autos. It'll be interesting to see how his re-election goes, especially considering he's running unopposed. Knowing how these things go in MS, he'll probably get away with it and continue to be their constable, that is, unless the Feds get involved. Nice little scam, if you can get away with it.

He did have good taste in guns, didn't he? Actually, he's probably a fairly decent guy. Never met many gun enthusiasts that didn't have a few redeaming qualities, but it would appear he got a little greedy. He had a pretty nice arsenal put together, though. I guess you could say his taste in guns was impeccable.

He says the allegations are untrue. Maybe he is telling the truth. Maybe his full auto's are legal. Maybe he didnt steal many of those guns. MAYBE

Heck, I'd pick the over under spread for the forum at about 70 firearms. Never met a LEO who didn't have a spread like that.
You fella's up north, someone have a beef with him or was it the auditors that "happened" upon this case. My guess is the former.

Heck, if I lived in Bassfield, I'd have all that too! But with the atf involved, I'm skeptical as to the validity of their claims. They can't be trusted.

Where are the storm troopers? I see SBS and full auto. I'd imagine there isn't a stamp to be found as well....

I am confused. I knew a guy back in the 80's who father was a constable. He said they had a huge collection of guns. Most were taken off folks involved in a crime. At that point, its up to the agency to dispose of them. I don't think "citizens" paid for them. On the flip side he said, often they were stolen guns where the owner could not be found. I don't see any NEWS here.
