...which brings up the next question

Post by tek4260 on Wed 9 Nov 2011 - 16:58

How did republicans carry all statewide offices except Aty. General? How can you vote for a republican govenor, then Jim Hood? People voting on Governor and then skipping to the bottom?

...i was wondering the same thing

I wonder if all of the "attack ads" on Simpson did him in. The one where he was in a bus going to NASCAR, in a plane going places?

Good question tek.

Did Attny. General Hood support Obamacare as Simpson claimed he did?

I mean, this race was not even close:

Attorney General - General
November 09, 2011 - 12:24AM ET
Mississippi - 1677 of 1876 Precincts Reporting - 89%
Name Party Votes Vote %
Hood , Jim (i) Dem 445,752 61%
Simpson , Steve GOP 290,195 39%

can anyone enlighten us on this one???

His tax problems didn't help. How can a man making 100K plus be delinquent on property tax, then run for a position making less money.

I didn't vote for an AG.

I figured this race would at least be a little closer. Ole Jim Hood made a bad name for himself when he fell in the democrat line on Obamacare. He really let Mississippi down. May be he will step up for us next time the opportunity comes up.

Not picking on you, but this is the answer. I vote for every race, if for nothing more than to cancel out someone else's vote. It seems to really get under the skin of a certain democrat I work with when I tell him that his vote didn't count because mine cancelled it.

I completely understand voting just to cancel a vote, but in that race, I didn't want either to win.

Also, Jim Hood has the name recognition.
