Auction This Saturday

Post by 22lrfan on Thu Nov 10, 2011 6:29 pm

I was in Village Pawn yesterday an saw a sign that they were having an auction this Saturday (12th) at 9:00 am. In the auction will be over 100 guns. I went to one they had last year and picked up a couple of rifles for good prices. I'm going to miss this one because I'll be out of town Sat. crying They are on Old Canton Rd North of County Line.

I think they had a couple in the rack. Not sure what they were. I'm not familiar with the Nagants but I think there were two M44's at Pawn Stars yesterday. They also had a SMLE.

Do you have an address or phone number for them? I did a quick Google search, and it showed 6600 Old Canton, closer to Lakeland than County Line.

Try googling Antique Pawn, Ridgeland, MS. The guy who bought it last year renamed it Antique Pawn but the Village Pawn sign is still up. 6600 Old Canton is right but it is in Ridgeland instead of Jackson.

Right next door to Sal & Phils. About two blocks north of county line. When you see Amergos, it's in the next strip mall on the right.

Easiest way to get there from clinton is the trace, take the exit above the one for hwy51. Cross over lake harbor and its a couple of blocks down on the left. Im probably going if you want to ride with me, may go to the gunshow afterwards but thats not definite.

Hadn't been there since the older guy was there. He was fair on the deals I got from him. Soon as he found my son was active duty and I was a USN vet, he really gave us some good deals. He was in the Korean war and treated vets pretty good. Hadn't been in there since he sold it off.

Probably 2-3 years since the old fella sold out. Son used to go just to shoot the breeze with him.

Ah, sweet. That clears things up. The name change caused some confusion. I'll probably head that way. I do plan on going to the show, but I don't know if it will be Sat. or Sunday.

Will the auction be in the pawn shop. It is a pretty small place isn't it. What about starting prices. Is it the stock that is/was in the store or other guns. They had a pretty nice older Ruger 10/22 last time I was in there but I couldn't make a deal for it. I did buy a old Shimano chronarch reel from them though.

I looked back at my records and it has been close to 3 years since Tom sold the store. Tom was a super nice guy. I used to go in there and shoot the breeze. He has Parkinsons and had to retire. He still hangs out there a lot. He was in there when I was there earlier this week. At the last auction some of the guns had a reserve and some didn't. He told me he had about 60 handguns that would be auctioned plus all the long guns that are in the racks. I did see one 10-22 sitting there, couple of SKS's, couple of SxS shotguns, three Marlin .30-30's, couple of Winchester Model 12's.

the auction company is running it. The have pics of each item:

www.headauctions.com its the first one (auction).

You can look for yourself. The photography, is terrible, but I did not see anything of great desire (for me). Pistols - lots of Rossi/taurus/Jimiez | Rifles- some with electrical tape holding them together.

The guns should go up about 10am

Didn't see anything I'd walk across the street to bid on gun wise (from their pic's).
