11-12-11 Hi-Power Match Results (and pictures)

The last HP at Magnolia for 2011 is in the books. And.........................


Pending M1GarandFan's verification....



CONGRATS to PhillipM on his "double win" today. He almost outshot his AR-15 score with his Garand.





Relay 1 getting ready to shoot. Sorry, no pics of Relay 2....... I was calling the line and scoring targets.





Since today is my birthday, I decided to bring out my FAL again and feed it some LC match ammo..... Smile FAL... the OTHER Black Rifle..... Smile

M1GF, thanks again for another great year of HP shooting at Magnolia. It will only get BETTER next year.......

Yep, should have known better than to shoot my M1A after not getting it sighted back in for 200 yards IDK . Oh well, live and learn. Should be ready for next year for sure bouncing smile .

Congrats to PhillipM for getting the two high scores today. The old Garand was really humming them in there.

This was a great year to the CMP Highpower Matches at Magnolia. Not only did we have most all of our regulars shooting most of the matches this year, we gained several new shooters who are now becoming regulars. Can't wait for next year. I think I'll be tinkering with more reloads over the Winter to see if they can help me be more consistent (the last Vintage Match showed how well they can do).

Many thanks to all our shooters who came out and especially to everyone who helped out getting the match set up and taken down. Plus a big kudos to SGF for taking pictures and posting up the scores here.

It's been a great season. I've learned a lot from a bunch of good folks. My scores have improved. I still stink, but less than before. Smile

Mainly though, I have had a good time each and every match. And when all is said and done that's the most important thing

Thanks guys! I had high expectations to live up to, I'm glad I didn't choke! I'm looking forward to 2012 and many more fun times.

Yesterday was my first hi-power match. I wish I had started sooner! I look forward to next year. I gotta practice that RS and RP -- assuming the position! Smile

Your "standing" score was great. I bet you improve on the "rapid" strings very quickly, dare I say "rapidly".

Congrats PhillipM. Shooting that good with two different weapons means its the shooter and not the gear. I may need to make a call to AL so I can keep up.

I'm glad I fell in with this group. It's a good sport. Beats golf any day. Looking forward to 2012.
