Vintage Equipment

Post by Geaux68 on Sun Nov 13, 2011 6:38 pm

Anyone else using one or more pieces of vintage equipment in their reloading operation? The single stage press I'm still using was bought by my father in the 60's (see photo). It was made by the "Bair Company" which was located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Any of the, shall we say, "experienced" reloader out there ever heard of this brand? It still works flawlessly so I see no reason to change now.

Hey, you know the old saying..."If it ain't broke..."

Most of my stuff is older (because I like a bargain), but not quite that "vintage".

Looks more precision than a lot of new stuff you see.

Bair did the machining for Pacific Tool & Die until the 60s. Later they split and Bair marketed their items themselves for a few years. Still later, Pacific got bought out by Hornady. I have a Bair Mach 12ga shotshell reloader (same blue color and same white bicycle grip).

I bet if you at older Pacific presses, you will find one that looks just like your Bair....... Smile
