New to Area (and forum)

Post by springer222 on Sun Nov 13, 2011 7:08 pm

Just joined! Moved to the Picayune area from TX last January and trying to get settled in and find a place to shoot and folks to shoot with (and shoot the breeze) in the area. I'm a handgun fan (Contender), like to shoot my .22's and just recently built a 6.5x47 Lapua on a Savage action that has yet to be broken in. I'm in the process of setting up a silhouette range here at the house for a recent Izzy acquisition - figured that should at least help me stay in practice with trigger control and sight acquisition. Any shooters in my area? Ranges? Thx - Cris

Thx everyone! I put the 6.5 together on a Savage target action with Shilen match barrel, mounted and bedded into a Russo stock. I have a Nightforce 12-42 BR scope in Burris Sig rings on a 20 MOA mount. Have a matching pistol on same action with a McGowen barrel. Have <100 rounds between 'em and then the move so shooting has taken a back burner. All my reloading equipment in still in TX and until I find a place to shoot, not sure I will load it up and make the move.

McComb's not too far, is it? (My Mississippi geography is very limited)
