Christmas came early

Post by HKing on Sun Nov 13, 2011 11:22 pm

My fiance surprised me today during our trip to Sportscenter here and Starkville and bought me the Howa 1500 in .308 that I've had my eye on. thumbs up I know I need pictures but I haven't gotten any taken yet and it looks like any that you can find online. Smile

So now I'm the market for a new scope, rings, and bases. Any recommendations for something in the $150-200 range? I know you get what you pay for but I'll just have to upgrade later.

Nikon makes decent scopes in that range.

Looking forward to a range report!

Nikon Prostaff 3x9x50. I have it on my 308 and like it.

+1 on the Nikon, I have the 2 of the buckmasters series and an omega and love them. Get the prostaff though only difference i've seen between it and the buckmasters is the name.... and $20 to $30 cheaper. They work satisfactorily for me in the dawn and dusk of the deer woods and also I dropped one of mine about 20' out of my climbing stand a few years back and it still held zero, impressed the hell out of me!

I don't have a Pro Staff, but I can speak well of the Buckmaster series. They're a danged good scope for so little moolah.

I've got a 3-9x40 Buckmaster on my AR "mini-sniper" (16" bull barrel Oly flat-top).

thumbs up
