Need a shotgun smith.
1902ish? Springfield double barrel SxS needs the internal "cocking" mechanism repaired and the stock is cracked. Who is the man to take it to?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would drop it of at Van's on Hwy 468. Billy Tierce does their gunsmith work and picks up from the store every week. Billy has done some work for me in the past and did an excellent job.

Its probably later than that, Springfield was the Montgomery ward house branded shotguns, Most of the sXs are made by Stevens, It is probably a Stevens 511 which is a striped down model of the 311. Not a bad shotgun overall. I restored one for my father in law with a cracked stock.
Just for the record those are a pain to get the hammers back into the gun without the correct jig. I will never take one apart again.
