Been looking at these for a while. Pulled the trigger on several over the last couple of weeks. Pics and reports later.

I have had a "wanting" for a couple of them ... just can not bring myself to pulling the trigger. Look forward to seeing what you got -- may help me make up my mind!!

I just got a 36, and a 49/56 in 308. Waiting on another 36 and 49/56 in 7.5 and a 49 in 7.5. Will post pics of all when they get here. Hope to shoot the 308 in the morning.

Cap, I took the 49/56 308 to the range today and put 25 rounds thru it and it was accurate and flawless. Heavy trigger but low recoil and very accurate!

Left to right; 49/56 in 7.5, 49/56 in .308 and two 36s in 7.5.

Are they expensive or rare? I've heard of them before. I just don't hear many people talking about them. That surprises me now to find out one of them is a mag fed .308 semi auto. If it's reliable, seems it would be more popular.

Most(if not all) of the .308s in the US were converted by CIA and some of those did not feed properly. This is my first experience with the rifles and I got a good .308 plus the 7.5s are also good shooters. Ammo has been pricey but there is some surplus(corrosive) out there now. The semi can be had for $400+/-. Saw several at shows while I was in Miss.

May have to research the .308 version. Anything I would need to know?

The only info I got was that the early conversions were not done as well as the later ones. Chambers were rough on some of them. So FTF/FTEs and jamming was the problem. Some folks polished the chambers and problems went away.

Any way to tell the difference?

I would think a good visual inspection would show any major problems. Plus a test firing would show how it performs.

Yes, I was very impressed. As I said earlier the trigger pull is way heavy but even with that I found them to be very accurate at 50 and 100 yds with my old eyes.
