Re: MAX-11 feeding problem
WOW... that M-11/9 and MAX-11 upper has been a real pain for you. Good idea to have Lage ship the new upper directly to PS. I wonder if Lage just drilled the barrel hole in the trunion out of place. Hopefully Lage will ship the new upper quickly. Looking on the bright side...... You are saving ammo.....

Re: MAX-11 feeding problem
The saga continues:
Got my M/11 back from Sam. It took him a while (over two months) but there's no room for complaining as he's the best. Welded my feed ramp and re parked everything. I had to get another MAX-11 as the one that I had a mis aligned barrel / bolt. This was causing my rounds to slam into the feed ramp which ultimately caused the weld to crack. Now my M/11 stock and MAX-11 run flawlessly.
I decided to check out my AMP-11. Unfortunately, now it won't fit into my receiver. It was a tight fit before Sam parked it. I also asked Sam why I had to have a modified trip for it to work in semi. He told me that the AA upper is out of spec (it sits too high in the receiver). I'm so sick of sending my gun back and forth. I would rather not have the receiver filed to make the AA upper fit which leaves filing the AA upper down slightly to make it fit in the receiver. I've contemplated doing this myself but I think I will pack it up AGAIN and send it off.

Re: MAX-11 feeding problem
RRO (Davy), man I feel for you. It must REALLY SUCK to have your FA toys sitting in the shop. Did Sam determine if your stock M11 lower was in spec? Did Lage replace the MAX upper free of charge? I know zero about the AA uppers. I hear Lage's MAX-31 uppers are good.
CONGRATS on getting your FFL. Are you going to go ahead and apply for your SOT 03 now, or wait until July (new FY)?

Re: MAX-11 feeding problem
Hey Dan. Sam didn't say if the lower was in spec or not. Yes, Lage replaced their upper no charge. The AMP-11 allows the use of 36 rnd stick mags and the MAX-31 only uses coffin and drum. I do prefer the ability to use those stick mags and I wish the MAX-31 did. Yes, going to bite the bullet and pay the SOT twice this year. I have several transfers waiting to be started. It doesn't make sense to pay $1000 but oh well.
I took a file and sandpaper to my AA upper last night. It now fits perfectly but needs a new park job.
