Be glad you're not a German gun owner: Bremen imposes 300EUR/gun tax

According to www.visier.de , (my good friend HoferUtzer sent me the article in German) the parlament of the city-state of Bremen has imposed a tax of 300 Euros (around $450) per year per firearm on gunowners, effective 1 January 2012. The left wing parties SPD and Greens dominate the parlament. They plan to use the estimated additional annual income of approximately 5 million Euros to balance their budget. And naturally reduce the private possession of firearms. This in spite of the decreasing rate of violence involving firearms in Germany nationwide. The leftists never let facts get in the way of what they want to accomplish.
At least this is not in Bayern, not yet, eh Uwe?
