Magnolia Rifle and Pistol Club Plate rack dies again 11/23/2011
This time it wasn't the usual victim it was the plate rack on the back 40. This time it may have been an accident or a weld may have given up. The farthest left hand plate has a crater in it on the top left side around the 10-11 o'clock position. Me and Larry were there today shooting it and noticed it.

The plate racks do breakdown due to their USE....
Was the crater on the edge or face of the plate?

face. It may have been a repair that gave up. The crater wasn't a perfect circle it had some mishape to it. It may have been a place that had been welded before and the weld not burned in good. It may have just came out from the vibrations that occur when being shot.

It was a previous weld that was giving away on the #1 plate.

Not being able to grind the inside of the crater, some of the plug welds are going to be hit or miss. Just something we have to deal with. But basically this incident was "no harm - no foul".....

Thought that was a possibility. Had a jagged edge on it. Glad to see it was not a malicious act. We all know Cliff lives at the range, but now I think Captain does too. Everytime I am down there now I see him, although I've never seen him shooting anything. Captain I'm gonna have to meet you down there one day and shoot some .22's with you.
