Marlin 39AS problem

Post by ShrpShootr on Sat Nov 26, 2011 6:49 am

Has anyone had a problem with a Marlin 39AS lever action not ejecting casings. I run in to this about every 50 rounds or so and it is very agravating, replaced the ejector clip one time and it still does the same thing.

I've never had mine do it. Are you sure you are not short stroking it? That is about the only thing I can think of that would cause it to not extract but not eject.

It won't even pull the casing out of the chamber when it happens, I was thinking of filing the extractor to a sharp edge to see if it would grab better.

My mistake. I saw eject and assumed it was extracting but not ejecting. Here is one possible explination. If it is the extractor you can get a new one for about $20. I'd take a look at the thread on Marlin Owners first.
