Spent some time on the range yesterday
Me and my brother went to the range yesterday and worked on a load for his Belgium Browning BAR .270 and shot his new DPMS, my bull barrel Olympic, my FN PBR and some pistols. Sucky day to do a load but its a semi auto and we aren't looking for match grade accuracy. We limited our bullets to hunting bullets, either soft point spitzers, soft point boattails, hornady sst's, nossler ballistic tips in weights 130, 140, and 150 grains. Not surprising here the 150 gr Hornady SST was king. With absolutly no variation right to left it ran a string straight up and down about 1.5inches. Best I can come up with was the excessive rain was pushing the bullet down or our inferior rests may have played a factor. 2nd place went to 130gr sierra BTSP. Next trial run will be these two bullets in varrying powder charges. He is really hoping to get the 130gr sierra to an acceptable level as it is cheaper, faster, and I have 100 he can have since I use the 150gr Hornady SST in my weathersby.
The Best thing about spending 7-8 hours at the range is you get to see what everyone else has. I will be investing in some nicer shooting rests (my folded blanket isn't cutting it). I absolutely LOVE and have to have some suppressed guns now. I also now know I need a 2nd and possibly 3rd job to be able to afford some of those nicer guns. It amazes me how nice and friendly gun people are, I was allowed the chance to look down a scope that was more expensive than my truck and even fire off a suppressed 308 without ears on. I'm hooked. Thanks for that. Also got to see Captain again, always a pleasure. Still haven't seen him shoot anything yet though.

Besides at a match I think ive seen Capt shoot once down there?
Its true gun people might act nutz but since joining here and the mag ive only met a couple that weren't nice as can be.
I almost came down there yesterday am to sight my 22/new scope in but decided to be lazy instead

I'm using the 150 SST's this season also. Mine are .30 caliber though.
