camo job on my thunder chicken gun

Post by southernfire97 on Sun Nov 27, 2011 8:25 pm

This is my turkey gun. I decided to do a camo job on it this past spring. I wish I would have went with a darker base color but happy with it none the less.

Great job on the camo. How'd you do on the patterns? What kind of paint did you use?

A friend of mine has a set of duck boat stencils that I used. I just used krylon special purpose spray paint. Its a flat paint that bonds pretty well. I just scuffed it lightly with steel wool and wiped it down with denatured alcohol then sprayed it.

Don't lay it down or lean it against a tree or you will never find it again.
Great piece of work. As Sidroski said, It's the best homade job I have seen.

Looks nice.

I've got an old 870 Express that needs a facelift. Might have to consider something like what you did.

thumbs up
