Newest Mosin and No.4 Mk.1 Savage**Range Results Added**
Picked these two up at the gunshow in Hburg today. The Mosin is a 1933 Hex Izzy, has all matching #'s, and is all Izzy with the exception of the rear sight which is Tula and the rear barrell band is Tula.
Also found this 1943 No.4 Mk.1 made by Savage and stamped U.S. Property. Gun is all matching that I've found so far, even the magazine has matching #'s and is stamped with the Savage stamp on the mag and the follower. It's not in the best of shape, I would say fair, the rifling is strong but a bit dark. Thought it was kind of cool so I snagged it. Traded my old 4" Taurus .357 for it, can't wait to see how it and the Mosin shoot. Hope to update with a range report in the next couple days.

Lend lease arms are cool. I have a Savage Enfield on my radar. (A Savage Thompson would be better though, lol)

Got to shoot the Savage and the new Mosin yesterday. Was pretty impressed by both. Shot the Savage with 180gr Win. Power Points and the Mosin with Bulgarian surplus off the bench at 100yds. Only bad thing I can say about either is the triggers on both are not really very good but hey, they're both 60+year old battle rifles! Actions are smooth and everything seems to function. I'm happy.

Thanks! That's what hand picked gets you, matching #'s and a purdy stock. I bought this one so I didn't have to break out my 1910 M91 mosin all the time, now I gotta find another one that's not so purdy so this one don't get beat around the boat and the truck, cause I'm dying to bust some pigs with it.

Looks like they shoot well for 60 year old battle rifles.
