I've got the pistol length gas system on mine, but am thinking of going to an adjustable system. I haven't had any cycling issues, but full power loads aren't recommended for pistol length gas. I haven't had any issues with full power loads yet.

Just installed a new 6-position stock. It is a carbine length gas tube on a 16 inch barrel.

Yeah theres your most likeley culprit, too heavy of a buffer or undergassed since in the carbine position. For a adjustible gas block I reccomend pri but it depends on gas block ID.

If it is drilled to .125 doesn't that mean that is getting more gas. It will cycle the 147gr. now. What I am wondering about is what will happen when I shoot 125 or 110 gr ammo.

.125 is the correct gas port for a 16" with the carbine position . Brought this up to a friend who builds these barrels and he agrees.

Also just looked at the gas block and where there was black soot before drilling the gas port, there is no soot on the barrel now. Thanks for the help. I will be ordering a adjustable gas block.

Just make sure you order the correct size, also if you have a ff tube that covers your block you may need to check the size of the block to make sure it fits under your ff tube.

It is .750 and the one you recommend like the one that is on now only non-adjustable

Just bought and received 2 boxes of 150 fmj from Right To Bear Ammo, out of Texas. Very good customer service and quick shipping.
