M44 v. M39
Was a pretty day today so took my new to me Hungarian M44 to the range. I got it recently from someone on another forum for $150. The bore was a little rough, but the muzzle is very tight. I was very pleased -- from the bench at 100 yds it put 16 out of 20 rounds in the 9,10 or x rings of the 100 yd M1 Carbine target.
Did not need to adjust the sights at all. It shot tighter groups than the Sako M39 with a mirror bore.

What type and make of ammo did you use in the M39. My SAKO M39 usually shoots well under 2" at 100 yards off the bags.

Just Russian surplus for me, in both guns -- can't afford the good stuff! Was also aiming about 6 inches below the black with the M39 in order to keep the shots on paper.
