Santa came a little early today

My wonderful wife told me to buy my christmas present if I wanted a new rifle. I have been just looking around to see what I wanted. I ran across the 2011 Shot Show Special Run Browning Abolt II Long Range Hunter in 300 Ultra and really liked the look of the gun. I have a thing for grey laminate stocks. I didn't figure anybody around town would have the gun since it was a special shot show gun and I have been searching on line and have had no luck. I called Browning today and they told me that all of the guns have been shipped months ago. I figured I would just have to keep my eye on gunbroker or gunsamerica and find one. So I really didn't know what I wanted to get so I figured I would just wait until something caught my eye. I went to The Outfitter to drop my deer meat off today and low and behold there was one sitting on the shelf. I guess today was my lucky day. I got the trigger job done on the rifle. It is a crisp 2lbs and got the barrel ready to be broke in.

I've never seen a heavy barrel on an A-bolt, that thing looks amazing especially with the gray laminate, I'm a big fan of those stocks too. I hope you've got a great present planned for her!

Oh yeah.. she is a special lady for sure.. We just bought a house and she wanted a fire pit.. so i have a guy going to build her a huge stone fire pit with a stone bench all the way around it..

Yeah they have made a few with heavy barrel, but none that I can remember that are fluted and with laminate stock

Sounds like a good deal all around, that should be a long range deer killing machine!
