Opinions on Colt Defender

Post by 22lrfan on Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:39 pm

Found a .45 stainless Colt Defender and don't know anything about them. Does anyone have any experience with them? I'm trying to decided whether to get it or not. The price is well below what I see them going for on Gunbroker.

I hate it when Colt & S&W name different new firearms with old names. The firearms are not even similar. It is confusing.

I've been looking at them for a year or so now. It is a good looking gun but I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. I have almost convinced myself a couple of times. I really want a Springfield compact 1911 but dang the 1911's I want are expensive for a old country boy. I keep hoping to stumble up on a Defender in 40 caliber. They made them for one year and I would love to have one to go with the rest of my 40's.
