Second, my comments were addressing how some folks just read a small article or in this case a few lines in a paper, and are ready to crucify someone. With no basis and certainly no adequate facts.

I'm just getting in from serving another no knock narcotics warrant. And guess what... during the briefing I hear AGAIN... "There is a Pit Bull there and most likely in the house. Woman and at least one small child. And weapons." All was true except the dog was not inside but out back. Exactly where we like em to be.

My original post wasn't meant to start a bash or argument. I merely wanted folks to stop. Think through. And weigh things a bit before jumping on someone (not just a cop) and saying things like it was "obvious". When the only obvious part was that there was no where near enough information to draw a conclusion, bad - good - or indifferent.

Pounds of weed seized, another dealer off the streets (at least for a while) and we all went home to our families tonight. I'm taking a shower to get this stench off of me and catching some shut eye before alarm goes off at 0600.

No knock warrants are crap. There should be no such thing. But it's like all the other rights in the Bill of Rights - they are slowly being eroded away.

Ok. Held my tongue long enough. This is ridiculous. But I will keep it civil at least and hope the Mods just lock this thread all together. I will start out like I have been. Those guys.... need to be charged and sentenced with no mercy if they did that. I didn't read all of it or supporting articles so I can't say for 100%. If they did it.... lock 'em up. Period.

I don't know what world YOU live in, but you seriously want me to go up to a house that is known to have large quantities of crack and meth , 25k in cash, and various weapons at their disposal.... and KNOCK?!@??!?! The BEST case scenario is that all the drugs get flushed while we stand around. The WORST case is that I get a shotgun blast or rifle rounds through the door, riddling my chest and I don't go home to my wife and kids.

Maybe we should just leave the dealers alone all together? That way we are so PC and tolerant of their behavior that we don't hurt their little feelings. I'm sick of how tolerant this country has become of deviant behavior. But that is a whole 'nuther story.

Wonder how long until mayhem would run over into your neighborhood? And when three or four bust into your house (because they don't have to knock) for whatever reason their crack heads come up with... and the cops have to wait or knock because of some BS ruling.... "well nobody actually SAW them go in or SEE they have weapons, but the people in there ARE screaming... wow, it could be anything, let's not rush in. Maybe they are all friends having a party.", you'd probably have a different view then. And don't tell me you'd wake up from a dead sleep if several people bust in at once armed, and were able to fend them all off.

And yes, I know that is an absurd unrealistic (maybe - maybe not if we leave them alone) and extreme example. It was SUPPOSE to be.

It's partly because of this type of attitude that I am preparing to turn in my badge this year. I'm sick of the folks that carry on and on and on about how we are so horrible. And every time I go out, I stick it on the line for some of those same people. They dial 911 and expect us to be there in 30 seconds. Soon as we contain the situation or get the guy that just beat the crap outta his girlfriend in cuffs.... they turn into cop haters. And video phones going left and right. Yea, they catch on video me tasing someone or dragging him across the ground. They don't catch they things leading up to that. Him spinning with a knife or tire iron, amped on crack. And the fact that they 'go limp' to make it harder to get them to the squad cars makes for a good video of how he is 'almost dead'. They know how to play the game just as good, if not better at times.

I won't post again. Rant all you want and post all the bad stories, ignoring the good. Criminals should PAY. period, if they have a badge or not on them.

I will have more rights and stand a better chance in court as a civilian than as a Deputy if I ever have to defend myself or family anyway. It's a shame.

Just stating that the good cops have been overtaken by the bad ones. Or so it seems.
Also, I think this whole "war on drugs" crap is something that needs to be looked at closely. are we winning it? If so, why does it seem that there are way more people taking them, dealing them, buying them, addicted to them? And it is filling our prisons to overflowing cesspools. There has to be a better way.
I do see your view point on what could happen if they know you're coming. But you do understand that sometimes y'all have bad information & hit the wrong house. Innocent people have the crap scared out of them & sometimes other bad things happen.
And one day those that have done wrong & criminal things will get theirs. Civilian or cop.

i must say.....my favorite law enforcement officers/peace keepers are the Oathkeepers. In my opinion, what they stand for is honorable and outstanding.
