Quick Range Report: S&W Bodyguard .38
My wife received a new S&W Bodyguard .38. We went to the range today and met SGMJody and Mrs Jody there. SGMJody gave my wife a thorough safety briefing and a quick lesson on the function of the weapon. He loaded some special light loads for her, although I really enjoy shooting them too. (They are very accurate! I'll let him post on that.) The loads are 130 grain lead round nose over 2.2 grains of Clays. Correct that if it's wrong SGMJody. We loaded the weapon for her and got her to take the proper grip. The first couple of shots stung her, but, after getting her into a better, tighter grip, she handled the weapon like it was supposed to be handled. SGMJody had set up an IDPA silhouette at about 5 yards. After her first few rounds with the Bodyguard, she was able to keep all 5 shots inside the "0" area on the chest. I am very proud of her first range trip!
I got to shoot some too and I must say I am very impressed with this weapon! I think SGMJody was too, but maybe he'll give his thoughts on the matter.

We had a great time at the range this morning with Mr and Mrs jbp. Mrs jbp could shoot the bodyguard very well after getting her grip a little tighter. I was impressed with her shooting. I was also impresswed with the Bodyguard, so much so that we went to the local gunshop and I purchased one. Good friends, good shooting, good guns, and a good day at the range. WHAT MORE COULD ONE ASK FOR??

Do not know much about the specific gun; however, the quote above says it ALL!!

We bought my wife one and between the rough trigger and the substantial kick with hot rounds, she was having none of it. I should have gotten her some light shooting rounds, good call jbpmidas.

I thought the trigger was quite acceptable.
