ak47 advice needed

Post by kowen1971 on Sat Dec 17, 2011 6:29 pm

I sold my CIA Romanian AK due to worse and worse "wobble" in the magazine up to where I started haveing feed Issues. I'm looking at two guns now, one is a M10-7.62x39 AK47 style rifle #AKAGUN05. The other is a Polish AK MS Underfold 7.62x39 #AKAGUN-POLUF. Both are at centerfiresystems.com and I was wanting to see if anyone knows anything about either of these. I have msg'd one of our resident AK experts but I'm not sure when he will be back on. So, let me know what you think... Thanks....

No, I've never fired the underfold. Thats why I wanted to hear from some of you guys. My experiance is limited to the one I had and i know some folks on here have several different types. I have a budget somewhere just under 700.00 to purchase one but I want it to be a keeper.... Thanks for the word on the underfold...

I would stay with a fixed stock AK. Underfolder and sidefolder AKs are just meant for Spray & Pray shooting (IMO). Since most of us are stuck with semi-auto AKs, being able to hit what we shoot at justifies the AKs not being full-auto..... Smile

That makes alot of sense. Ok, I'ma stay away from the folder. Now, to figure out if the fixed stock model I'm looking at is a good rifle.....

I know that it's not one of the guns you have listed but I have a very nice older Mac 90 with the thumbhole stock. Four magazines and right at 1000 rounds of ammo. It would be a little more than 700 but I'd be glad to show it to you if you are interested.

I've got an underfolder yugo and it's actually very solid and not uncomfortable to shoot either.
I've got a wasr-10 as well, the trigger slap kills my finger every time i shoot it.

why not get a saiga? $299 and you can convert it to traditional ak style with a very small amount of effort. Plus its NEW unlike most other ak's out there built from kits.

My favorite AK is the AMD-65. It is a side folder, never fails to fire when you pull the trigger.

I just picked up a WASR10 and it seems to be ok. No trigger slap, no mag wobble and so far it has functioned perfect. I did sand and stain the wood because the finish was so bad and I cut the weld on the thread protector so I can add an AK flash hidder. From what I hear it's hit or miss with these WASR's.
