Having Several Powder Measures for Progressive?
I'm thinking about getting another powder measure for my LNL AP. It isn't hard to set it up when when changing calibers, but it would be nice to just swap the whole thing and only have to fine tune it.
So, I'm curious if anyone else has extra powder measures on hand (regardless of press color) and if you think its a good idea?

SGMJody has 2 for his LnL. It's easier to tune off the press. He has it mounted above the bench and they are easy to swap. I use it off the press more than I do on it. It's great for throwing .223 powder charges when loading blasting ammo!

Now that you mention it, I could just about use one setup just for 223. That's what I'm always going back and forth on.....223 to pistol then back.

Yes. You could have one set up for rifle, and one for pistol.

I have two for my dillon... One with the small charge bar(pistol) an one with large(rifle)
Re: Having Several Powder Measures for Progressive?
It's a great idea. It saves time and headaches. I have a few powder measures for my dillons. I have spoiled myself by having measures dedicated to my favorite loads like the one for Unique where I use the same amount of powder for several different cartridges so all I have to do is move it from toolhead to toolhead. I also have dedicated setups on .223 and 9mm that way all I have to do is swap over, check powder and run. Too much of a good thing is still a good thing.

Dillon makes a quick change kit consisting of a tool head, powder die, tool head stand for $98 I've been thinking about but I'm not sure I want to run extruded powder with the Dillon measure yet. Quick Change Assy

I have never had issues with extruded powder. I don't load bench rest rounds on a Dillon anyway. I did use some sort of long powder years ago and don't remember what it was that crunched more than normal though I remember it had really thick kernals.

I have a separate powder die for each caliber and a meter assembly for each of my regular loads. All I do is pop in the die and swap metering assemblies. I can see where it would save time by just switching the whole assembly, but I generally make large runs of one caliber before switching so I'm not doing it often.
