SureFire Fury 500 lumens!!!!!

Post by DirtyWorks on Fri Dec 23, 2011 9:41 am

That's a lot of lumens! Considering one and can get it for 15% off, free shipping and 4 batteries. That's $132 delivered. Is 500 lumens too bright? Only wish it were rechargeable. Is there anything else I should look at in its class? Besides 4sevens ?

I will probably get bashed for this but you can get 1 just as good as the surefire for about 20 dollars off of ebay I have 1 and love mine. it takes AAA batteries also, and you can focus the beam.

Don't know if you need 500 lumens but you can get a nebo redline for about $30. Its got 220 at the highest setting and you can focus the beam also.

500 Lumins will come in handy to blind someone in your house across the room (they'll all blind you at 5 feet). Men that can't see are not good shots.

Here is the one I bought:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/500LM-Adjustable-Focus-LED-Lamp-Light-Hand-Torch-zoom-/300509347730?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item45f7c0bf92

You just have to remember that the shipping will take 3 weeks or so. I have bought several of these lights from overseas, and their quality is fine. Do a search on ebay, you want a 'cree' light of however many lumens you want, with a focusable beam, and i prefer the ones that take AAA batteries. I personally trhink they are made out of the same materials as the surefires, streamlights, etc.

It says buyer responsible for import taxes and such. How much were they? The light is about $12 shipped.

There are none, it just says that. The light was 19, but I see its now 12. I might get me a couple more. I also highly recommend these headlights:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300L-ZOOMABLE-ZOOM-5W-CREE-LED-HEADLAMP-FLIGHTLIGHT-G-/320517298701?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa051da0d

I have bought 9 of these and given some away. everybody loves them. There are some on ebay that aren't that good, so be careful. the ones I bought are awesome. We have compared them to surefires side by side and there is no comparison. These lights are just as bright as they say they are, plus they are focusable, some call it zoomable, and they take AAA batteries, and the price is way, way, way less than the comparable popular lights. My 2 cents

Ive looked at several but I haven't bought any. I have some experience with rechargeable lights, and in my experience the batteries won't last long unless you use them often. I have a streamlight stinger HP with a piggyback battery charger, meaning it charges the battery in the light and a spare. I have kept it in my truck for a few years. it's super bright, 45,000 candlepower, but the batteries will go bad if you dont deplete the battery and recharge it often. I would cut you a deal on it if you wanted it, but it would need new batteries.

I have one Surefire light. It is a 9Z that I put the LED kit on. It's a great light but the batteries are so expensive!

I bought a surefire executive today and love it. Surefires are modular you can change them up with other surefire lights. With that said I also have 2 fenix flashlights and they are outstanding too. they run about half the price of a surefire and advertise higher lumens. The one I have is 332 lumens on its highest setting. The pd31 is 300 lumens and I like it the best. I've owned those nebo's and cree's with the rechargeable battery the size of 2 cr123's end to end. The battery works good in the fenix but the lights are no comparison as to the brightness. I thought they were bright until I got the fenix.

bass pro has a stream light Strion 160 lumen re-chargeable for 120 I'm thinking about picking one up. I got one of the cheaper ones and the batteries only lasted 2 months and they aren't common batteries so now i cant find any to replace them so I think the rechargeable one's are the way to go.

What was the price for the kit and how does it's output compare to to your original head. I assume it still use's the CR123 batteries. How did the run time do. Mine burn through batteries.

As far as rechargeable batteries go, they used to say to run them until dead. The chemicals in it had a "memory" so if you didn't run them but half way b/f recharging them they would eventually only get a half an output time. Now the last few rechargeable devices I've bought say recharge them before they run completely out or you were damaging the batteries.
