The new head was about $40. It is still VERY BRIGHT! However, it is hard for me to compare LED to incandescent. The LED doesn't seen to reach out as well as the original, but the battery life is worth the difference. The LED head will pay for itself!

I have a Surefire E1B Backup I carry as my EDC. I bought it when it first came out for around $100, and it was well worth it. It has crept up to around $150 now. For its size, it is extremely bright. I also have a Surefire 6PX Tactical and love it, so I may check out this Fury. There's no such thing as too many lumens! big thumb up

There are none, it just says that. The light was 19, but I see its now 12. I might get me a couple more. I also highly recommend these headlights:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300L-ZOOMABLE-ZOOM-5W-CREE-LED-HEADLAMP-FLIGHTLIGHT-G-/320517298701?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa051da0d

I have bought 9 of these and given some away. everybody loves them. There are some on ebay that aren't that good, so be careful. the ones I bought are awesome. We have compared them to surefires side by side and there is no comparison. These lights are just as bright as they say they are, plus they are focusable, some call it zoomable, and they take AAA batteries, and the price is way, way, way less than the comparable popular lights. My 2 cents

I have placed 3 separate orders for these headlights and they are unbelievable. One time I bought from a seller who was about $1 cheaper than the previous orders and they were not nearly as bright even though the light looked the same on the outside. I need to place another order before everybody finds out about them!

I gave my Dad one and told him I only paid $8 for it. He couldn't believe it. Its hard for people to believe that you can get a light for $8 that is 3-5 times as bright as lights that cost 10 times as much. But trust me, it's true.

I have one source for all my flashlights. For something rechargable, simply use rechargable lithium batteries. 16340's, and 18650's.

www.shiningbeam.com Bryan is a good gut to deal with as well.

Look on E bay for Cree lights, any output you want and most will run either rechargable batteries or cr 123 I have some of both and they work great at a fraction of the cost. also have a couple of surefire lights, cann't tell the difference in actual use.

I got one of these remingtons and its great.

http://www.amazon.com/Rayovac-RM2AA-B-Remington-Flashlight-Holster/dp/B001RCUKMS/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1325213756&sr=1-8

http://www.botachtactical.com/rerm.html They can be had cheaper at botach

as for brightness, 120 lumens, to me is perfect for a gun mount. anything more seems like overkill and wasted juice.

The other thing is that now days you can get 100lumen and up lights that run on AA's. Worth considering the change over from cr123 since most can be had for under $30 ea and the battery cost is much cheaper and far more common. Plus nearly every other gadget I have uses AA's.

I've bought my last overpriced surefire.
