Just finished giving ol' Kimber a facelift....

Post by MrClean on Sun Dec 25 2011, 00:14

This was my first Kimber I ever purchased.... many moons ago.
Decided I would take time to actually coat one of MINE during the holidays. Finally gave her a little facelift.... DuraCoated Dark Earth and Black. Haven't put the sights back on, probably going to put a fiber optic on the front instead of the plain black. Grips came in today from "Dog Grips". They are a little thicker than most, but I actually like that feel. Probably going to put the black hex grip screws back in, instead of the polished stainless.

Nice job, and I agree the black screws would look better.

Not generally a fan of earthtone firearms, but that is SHARP. Grips are great.

I love this forum, but darn if threads like this don't put ideas in my head and removed $$$$ from my pocket.

Thanks guys, used the Combat Black for those pieces. Pretty much all I use. Like the sheen on it. Have been meaning to order a different black to try but haven't done it yet.

Looks great. Maybe its my pc, but it looks more grey than the HK or Tactical black I've been using.
