Ultrasonic Cleaner
I can pick one up from harbor freight for about 60 bucks. I've seen good reviews for it online when used with lemon shine. I absolutely hate cleaning primer pockets and they came clean on the videos I saw. Anybody use one of these or a similar U-S cleaner?

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner
I bought one off eBay. I used it with Hornady One Shot chemical. Most of the cases ended up looking almost new. You'll have to experiment with how many cases to do at one time. Make sure you rinse the cases really well after and let them dry. I tumbled mine for about 15 minutes after they dried. I'm going to try straight distiller water next.

I tried using just distilled water. That did ok on the primer pockets but did not touch the case neck or walls. I'm trying just a teaspoon of simple green in with the distilled water and it seems to be working better.

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner
been using one myself. tried lemi shine and the hornaday stuff. both seem to work the same. biggest problem i've had is if you use too much of the cleaner, it will pink your brass, literally. obviously its a chemical deposit left but it wont come off. it usually affects a handful of my cases out of a hundred or so when cleaning. my advise go easy on adding the cleaner stuff. both seem to be using the same agents so id buy whichever is cheaper or more handy for you.
it does clead the brass well inside and out. the drying part is the biggest headace for me. you need a nice warm and dry spot to put them for a day or so. my buddy used the back of his parked car, i use my kitchen floor lol.
i still tumble my brass for the heck of it but its probably not needed.
as for the simple green, ill have to try that. it work s great on cosmolene btw.

I tumbled mine for a few minutes after drying to get the chemical residue off.

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner
I've alos found that running the cleaner continuously to heat the process, helps.

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner
Ultrasonic cleaners are great. I use them at my “grown up” job all the time. They are the best way to clean inside of tight spaces and to remove contaminates that you may not see with the naked eye. Unfortunately, they are fairly expensive when you buy a complete setup. I would suggest that you avoid the cleaners that are sold by the reloading / ammo companies. They are over priced for what they are. You can buy a Crest or a Branson that is little larger for about the same price. If you want to invest another couple of hundred bucks you can get something big enough to put your handguns in as well.
Chemistry is also important. Obviously, different chemicals are better suited for different jobs. If you’re going to clean your guns I’d suggest Ed’s Red or Kerosene. The petroleum based stuff cleans well and adds a little lubrication.
If you need a BIG cleaner it’s better to just make your own. You can get ultrasonic generators and transducers on Ebay for pretty cheap. All you need after that is a stainless tank. We (Bunker Hill) are exploring a DIY ultrasonic tank and we need something pretty large. We will likely redneck engineer our own system. I’d be glad to keep you guys posted it you’d like.

Definitely do that! I'd be interested in one I can clean 100 or so .308's in. Can only do about 15 in my current set up.
