NFA Resolutions anyone?

Post by beltfed on Mon Dec 26, 2011 1:41 am

I frequent another nation-wide gun forum and this was brought up as a topic of discussion.

Does anyone here have any new years NFA resolutions they are planning. Maybe 1st suppressor, 1st SBR or SBS, 1st MG!!!! Anybody got any cool NFA ideas?

Heres my New Years NFA resoulte plan. I know the 300 Blackout is becoming all the rage, especially out of SBRs but Ive got a better idea. Im thinking a Mega Machine Ma-TEN SBR lower with a 10" 308 bbl. Ill use my cheap and easy to reload subsonic 308 recipie with my Coastal .308 suppressor. Can you say SCHWEET? Cheap 308 brass, cheap Trailboss powder, easy to reload with no resizing...why not?

Whats on yalls agenda?

Nothing real different for me. I'm going to SBR my 300 and get a can for one of my 45's.....and maybe a can for a 22.

I want to see an SBR in my future....time to convince my wife. They may cost me a lot of jewelry this year.

1. An SBR 300 blk is first on my list
2. A .308 suppressor for no.1
3. A 9mm suppressor from Silencerco

DPR just got my .40S&W AR upper with integral silencer in. Now waiting on the form 4 to go to the BATF and get approved. Now I'm thinking of a resolution to get their .308 can also. Then will get all my AR's and 30 cal bolt guns threaded. Probably won't ever get a MG, but a short barrel may one day be in the cards, but probably not for a few years.

I can't get in the SBR mentality but I foresee cans in my future.

Think that's the one I saw the other day. Pretty sweet rig you got there.

Will a carbine length gas system on a .308 barrel be short enough to do a 10 inch barrel? I was asked about this several weeks ago and could not find any info out.

IMO it would. But thats just it, opinion. If not, an enlarged gas port with adjustable gas block such as the Noveske Switchblock would do the trick.

A rifle length AR 308 with 18" barrel will run just fine, and that only leaves about 4" of "dwell" to cycle the gun.
