Can't beat a 3rd gen Smith. Is that slide black?

I guess I need to start adding my stuff to your list. I did get some exploding targets though.
Congrats!

Nice S&W. I like the 2-tone look.

Yes it is. It was bought used off of Gunbroker and it didn't really occur to me until after I got it that I've never really seen a duo tone 5906, but it's got the ambidexterous controls like my stainless 5906. Maybe someone who knows a little more about the 5906 models can provide info on whether they were made with black slides. It looks good and shoots great.

Nice, I really like the two tone.

It's very unlikely it left the factory that way. Two likely scenarios: someone swapped the slide for one from a 5904 (blued carbon steel) or painted/coated the original SS slide. Either way, it looks nice. My 5906 is my favorite pistol by far for shooting. There are better (read lighter) choices for carry, though.

Of the two scenarios, I would probably guess the swapped slide. The finish looks original, exactly like the finish on my 915. I just discovered the early S&W semiautos and I love them. I'll be officially getting my 469 for my bday next week.
