SKS bolt cleaning question
Does anyone know what kind of tool would work to clean a SKS (Yugo) bolt inside the area where the firing pin sits?
It is a long opening without an opening at the end except a tiny opening only where the little tiny bit of the firing pin sticks out.
I know how to disassemble/reassemble and completely break down the bolt down but do not know what tool can be used to clean those tight spots?
Does anyone know how to clean that part of the bolt and what tool can be used to clean it?

I use pipe cleaners and qtips for places like that.

how do you fit the q-tip through that area. I have tried using the qtip and had to remove all or most of the cotton to get it through. I will have to find some pipe cleaners.

From what I've read you may just have to flood it with solvent.

Re: SKS bolt cleaning question
I just soaked the bolt and firing pin in the cleaner. It rattles back and forth inside of the bolt now, which is good.
I am just wondering if the cosmoline will start to gunk up (resurface) again once I fire a few hundred rounds out of it.
Anyone experience this?

I never have experienced a resurgance of cosmoline after a good bolt cleaning on any of my sks. I have had one stick on me and managed to shove two down the pipe without my wanting it to happen though. That was a bad day, thank God it was pointed down and safe. Scary though. I now recommend Murray's firing pins in all sks rifles. Cheap insurance and you don't get that annoying dented primer, plus makes it much safer to shoot non military "soft primered" ammunition.
