WWII collection pics attempt
I got a little nostalgic after a half bottle of makers mark and watching reruns of "Band of Brothers" in my bunker.
So I broke out the camera and I tried playing with different setings on my camera to try and get that "coverpage" type of shot. I tried different camera settings and different lighting.
Thought Id post up a few of my favs and see what you guys think.
Please feel free to critique my shots. #2 and #4 are my favorites.

I need to get my old Browning 1919 kit finished up so I can add it to the next photo shoot.

#4 is the best. However, I would have rotated the pic right to level things up. What looks most out of place is the angled clips of ammo on ammo can. Hey, that is just me.......
Excellent lighting work...............

Re: WWII collection pics attempt
Thanks guys.
I do think #4 was best as well.
It has come to my atention that the M1 carbine does not have an era-correct magazine and the slings are the wrong color, should be green? Also, 45 ACP FMJ ball was used, not cast......oh well.
I have a leather M1907 sling, should I put it on the Garand for a more correct sling?

According to Canfields book, the Garands had more the leather sling. But thats a matter of taste. To me the leather sling looks better.

POSTED BY Eagelstroker: and Makers Mark
Tonight I have successfully dispatched a full bottle of makers mark.....
Ive got the urge to break out the Russian cold war collection.....
Ill save it for another day.....Thanks for the comments fellers.
Lt.Dan and I did sight in the PSL (wannabe Dragunov clone) yesterday at 300 yards. Most guys seem to get about 4-6" groups at 100 out of the PSL with surplus, we were tagging a steel 12x12 steel plate at 300 every once in a while with light ball. YAY for 1 minute of BARN!!!! HAHA!

Nice pictures! Maker's Mark is the good stuff!
The web sling is on backwards, the metal clip belongs on the butt end.

Great photos, #2 and #4 are my favorites. Ditto what Phillip M sez on the sling. But those are magazine if not "coffee table book" quality! Do some more when the muse, ie, Maker's Mark, strikes...!

If you want we can hook you up with a 1917, 1919 and a tommy gun for the next pictures.

Dockrocker, that'd be cool. But would be even better would be to point me in the direction of someone local to help me with my 1919 kit. I need the bolt machined and the RSP and riveting tools.
Whatd'ya say?

Great pictures, not to mention the Makers Mark, but where was the Makers Mark Cigar? I carried both of the weapons for many years in the Army at one time or another.

I guess I'm the oddball. I like #1 the best. I think it has the best view of the guns. How did you do the lighting? I never can get it right.
