Need Help. Know anybody that used to work for the State Tax Commission LE? (Now MDOT LE)

My dad worked for the State Tax Commission in the 80s and early 90s. I would like to know what their duty weapon was because Id like to own one like it. This is what I know about. It was a S&W revolver. It had a huge grip on the think. It was black, possibly a 4 inch barrel. I think it was a .38. Im not sure it will help, but here is a picture of it holstered.

Looks to be a S&W K frame. If it had a adj. rear sight then most likely it was a Mdl 15. If it was fixed rear sight then it was a MDL 10. It could be a MDL 19 357.

With those large grips, I say that is a Model 19.

Bet this is it -- Mdl 19 4" .. would not have thought they would still be issuing 38specials in th 80s - 90s ..

They don't make it anymore but you shouldn't have a problem finding one.

Just an FYI they also make Model 18 - it is 22lr. They still make the Model 18.
