Ranger .22

Post by 22lrfan on Mon Jan 02, 2012 12:18 am

I picked this one up a few years ago and have only fired it to make sure it functioned. I took the peep sights off it tonight and mounted a scope. If it shoots ok I hope to try it in F-Class. It's marked "Ranger" but it cross-references to a Stevens 416. Its got a 26" bull barrel and a five round magazine. These were made from 1937 to 1949. I took this scope (a 16x Redfield 3200) off my Rem. 40X and put a Weaver T36 on it. This rifle had target blocks on it so the scope dropped right on.

I rarely go to bed before midnight. This is when it's quiet and I can work on guns and reload.
