Local Source For .22LR Target Ammo

Post by PapaDawg on Wed Jan 04, 2012 10:42 am

Anyone know of a local source - Greater Jackson Area - that carries Wolf, SK, Lapua, Eley, etc target ammo? Still trying to find what my new Savage really likes and I'm too impatient to wait on my mail order. Letting my itchy trigger finger get the better of me. Also, I'll be in the central and southern part of the state soon, so if you know of a source down there, that would help as well -

Thanks All

Great Southern has Wolf Match Extra at $8.99/50 or $89 out the door for 500. Van's has the same 500 rd box listed for $170. Ouch! To qualify this, I'm pretty sure it's the Match Extra at V's and not the Target as I left my eyes in the truck -

I did not pay much attention to brands, but noticed last week that academy has added a lot of different 22 ammo to the shelf. That said, my favorite off the shelf ammo is cci standard velocity. That stuff continues to impress me.

Southern Cash & Pawn used to stock ELEY match rifle .22; I can't remember the price. The late Mr. Frank Slipher, may he RIP, would always slip a box of it into der Junge's hand while I was elsewhere in the shop looking at the inventory. Der Junge still has a fairly good supply, so we haven't had to buy any lately. But check them out, they are on State Street in downtown McComb.

Thanks Marksman (or is it sharpshooter) - German is real rusty. I'll be through McComb week after next and I'll be sure to stop in there. I've been in that shop before - Thx

You're welcome. I'll say sharpshooter just 'cause the NRA says that is a "higher" qualification rating than a marksman Wink but really in German it does indicate a marksman, which is not taken as lightly as in the English word used in NRA rifle classification; in military terms, the term is used to indicate a Soldat who is deployed as a "sniper".
If I get by Southern Cash and Pawn in the next few days I will check prices and supply.

Wally World has CCI MiniMags for $6.50 per 100. My Marlin 60 spits 'em out like watermelon seeds...
