MSFOA Secretary Election
I will be placing my name in the running for the position of Secretary of the Mississippi State Firearm Owners’ Association. I believe with the assistance of the current leadership I can serve the state’s firearm owners in this capacity.
I have been active in hunting and in the shooting sports since I received my first shotgun at the age of 10. Among my qualifications:
NRA Life member since 1992
Life Member of Southwest Gun Club, McComb since 1998. My son and I are very active in the rifle programs of the SW Gun Club.
Executive Officer and Director of Rifle Programs for Southwest Gun Club since 2006
In addition I am active on the local and state levels in educating and advocating for firearm owners’ rights and Second Amendment issues on a national level.
I respectfully ask for your support at the upcoming State Association Meeting which will take place at Bass Pro Shops in Pearl, MS on February 25, 2012, at 2:00pm.
Should you have any questions for me please feel free to contact me. Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely
Phillip Zinke

It takes good people to make good organizations, based on interactions with you throught this site i think MSFOA will be fortunate to have you on board.
I am planning on joinging MSFOA as soon as i can find my card with my nra # on it. I didnt even know they existed until Doug posted about it the other day. Sounds like a good local group to support.

Thanks for the support - and please come to the MSFOA meeting!
I'd like to thank all of you who have expressed support for me as I stand for election to Secretary of the MSFOA.
The annual meeting and election is in almost exactly 2 weeks, I want to get the meeting back out there on the "new posts" list to drum up support and attendance. Please remember, regardless of whether you choose to support me for MSFOA Secretary: the MSFOA is the ONLY statewide NRA-sanctioned association. The MSFOA can carry clout with the Mississippi legislature only if we can present the numbers to show that what we support is supported by thousands of Mississippi firearms owners/voters, and that which we (MSFOA) oppose is likewise opposed by thousands of Mississippi firearms owners/voters. As I write this post, legislation has already been proposed which would weaken HB 506 - situations such as this call for a strong lobbying body to represent the law-abiding firearms owners in our state. The MSFOA is that organization. As the only NRA-backed statewide association we can have powerful influence on state legislation and policies IF we remain a large, viable organization. In order to do this we must maintain our membership numbers - state politicians recognize the power of a politically active organization such as the MSFOA only if we have the numbers to back us up.
So if you cannot come to the meeting please contact Doug Bowser to find out how to join / renew your membership. There is strength in numbers!
Again thanks to those who have expressed support on this forum for my candidacy for Secretary of the State Association. If elected I promise, God willing and with the support of Mississippi's firearms owners, that I will do my best to continue the Association's support for 2nd Amendment rights as well as maintain our relationship with the National Rifle Association.
Sincerely,
Phillip Zinke

I will be speaking with Paul Gallo on SupertalkMS tomorrow morning at 6:45am to publicize the annual meeting of the MSFOA and to promote and encourage firearms owners to join the MSFOA, if anyone's interested in listening. Wish me luck,...

Me also. Do they have a ballot or is it show of hands. Since I've never seen you, I hope they introduce you all. I assume we sign up before hand, but too important to leave to maybes. When and where do we sign up and like Randy asked, what is the cost yearly.
Good luck. I will try to wear a MSGO shirt unless that is frowned upon.
You are giving out T-shirts I hope, its the way of the land in our election process.
