He's not the first government official, celeb, or well to do, that has been anti gun, but surround themselves with armed body guards and/or carry a firearm. People like that piss me off.

Unfortunately, his supporters probably don't care about such things.

I'll bet this gets quietly swept under the carpet. The police won't be allowed to check if he was legally carrying.

Definitely a Mayor who's constituents have family that is incarcerated.

The thing is that Alabama has the Castle Law (with the Stand Your Ground rule), so as long as that gun is legally obtained he is within his rights to use it. Of course being an anti-gun Mayor doesnt look good, he is simply one of the political elite. Take a look at NYC, you can google it and see a pretty big percentage of their Politicians, who are rabidly anti gun, have CCW's as well as a bunch of Celebrities too (One Im a fan of who is a CCW holder and carries is Howard Stern). But of course it is almost impossible for your average citizen in NY to get a permit.

This story gets right to the heart of the problem. Things like prohibition and gun control are elitist. The elites think that becauase I am mayor, congressman, city councilman, or judge I can carry a gun or drink and be resposible, but Joe the butcher, mechanic. or teacher down the street can't.
