41 blastin
Got a chance today to shoot my two 41's. Ruger New Model Blackhawk 6.5" blued w/ hogue monogrips, and Ruger Redhawk 5.5" ss w/ original woodgrips. I was shooting my hunting loads with 210 gr speer gold dots. I know the hogue grip is ugly but it sure does feel great. I'm not sure if I'll get one for the redhawk or not, probably will
Blackhawk on left ----- Redhawk on right
50 yards off table

25 yards off table

20 yards freehand standing

I love these guns.

here you can see how my pinky finger hangs off the redhawk with wood grips and rides smoothly on the hogue monogrip bottom.

Pretty good shooting but bet if you change your load up you could shrink the groups some more.
The only 41 I ever shot was a S&W with 8 3/8th" barrel. Man the 41 is a sweet round. We was shooting a barrel at about 150 yards with it.
Ruger has some nice handguns but wish they would make a couple not so beefy.

Factory or handloads? Just got a 4 5/8" blackhawk. I want to work up some loads for it. Do you have a load that is working for you yet?

I Currently have 4 Ruger SA (2-45colt, 357, 22lr) and 1 DA (sp101) and I keep thinking how I need a 41mag.
I think that redhawk of yours might have pushed me over the edge.
That is a nice looking gun.

If you're really wanting a redhawk in 41, I have a line on a blued 5.5" version. Let me know.

Nice guns. I would love to have a .41 but I sure don't need another caliber to load for.

Thanks, but bad timing. Spent too much $ over the holidays. A BLUED redhawk would be awsome though

Re: 41 blastin
I just traded for my first 41. It's a ss redhawk 7 1/2 hunter model, I haven't fired it yet, I intend to load for it, any suggestions on bullet and powder would be appreciated. Thanks

Wish Hogue had made that grip when I had my .41 Blackhawk. The rear of the trigger guard would have me bleeding everytime I shot it.

I did shoot a few cylinders full. I need to get serious about a load for them though. I've been shooting my hunting loads with speer gold dots.

Re: 41 blastin
if you get good load worked up please forward my way.
by the way i love the 41 3spop- i am going to try and start loading a few this weekend.
That Chesty Puller thing on the holster almost got me in hot water with the wife. She walked in while i was trying to figure it out. Took about 10 minutes to convince her it wasnt some kinky outfit.
