ABC News -- Dishonest??

Post by captain-03 on Fri Jan 06, 2012 6:35 pm

Dishonest in their reporting? Watch the video and the way they compare the rate of fire of a semi-rifle to that of a Glock ...

They make it sound like the police are basically defenseless with their pistols. They don't mention that most patrol cars have a shotgun or semi-auto rifle. In one of the scenes in the video the police have AR-15's. They also said the man had a criminal record so the gun he had was probably obtained illegally. I like one of the first comments when the guy said he heard gunfire and it sounded like an AK-47. He must be an expert!! I know I couldn't distinguish and AK firing from another type.

The rate of fire comparison.... pretty ridiculous.

Also of note, they stated that "high-powered rifles" are available at any gun store, online, or on the black market. First, if you can't buy a gun at the gun store, where do you buy it? Second, it's not like you can go online and order a gun and have it shipped straight to you like it's some junk off of ebay. Third, as long as there are criminals and they want items that are illegal, there will be a black market.

ABC news has always been Anti-Gun. Whenever they do a story about anything involving a gun, it's always extremely tilted against gun ownership. See the YouTube video linked at the end of this post. In that video they setup a situation that has ZERO chance of success for the concealed carry student. The "gunman" comes into the class and immediately goes after the conceal carrier after shooting the "teacher". No way the gunman would know who was carrying and who wasn't. Freaking liberals.

NBC is just as bad. They haven't run a single story on the whole F&F scandal.

I thought the first or other report of this I heard that of the 5 wounded, 1 was treated and released from the hospital. Did he relapse? Doesn't sound to me like he is "fighting for his life". Hate the officer was killed. Don't think all the facts are out though. Certainly won't get them all on ABC news.

I think somebody banned them at my deer camp already. I have sat in the stand for 12-13 hours a day everyday since sunday and haven't seen one yet.

Only problem with this thread is that the title doesn't need those question marks.

The Sun Herald newspaper is just as bad. Had a story once about the Moss Point police chief claiming that assault weapons were being used in the city with military ammo in them and her officers were out gunned. I tried to correct the story but the newspaper ignored my input.

^^^^^^^^^^^ THIS

My daughter is at school and wanted to go into advertising... (well not so much now after one semester) But she learned the tactics and language used by media to bring about a desired result. Basically all TV is entertainment, they need ratings. To get ratings TV media will use any tactic, the basic is to overemphasize and polarize the TV watcher in order to illicit some emotional ( and therefor strong) response in hopes of getting a favorable rating.

This is so true! It is also like polls,, It depends on who you ask as to how you want the poll to turn out.

"routine drug investigation"?? There is nothing ROUTINE about anything like that or any other stop we make. That word irritates the crap outta me. "Routine" gets you killed.

Yet budgets continue to get cut for agencies as the government wastes money on supporting illegals and those that would rather draw a check from ME than work. Thugs walking around with thousands and thousands in hand, dealing.... and drawing a check.

Media only cares about shock effect and supporting liberal government. If that same person would have been dragged out of the house bloody and bruised in cuffs.... you can bet your sweet a$$ that the media would have been all over those same officers like rats on cheese. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do to STOP a threat. It's not pretty at times, but better them than us.
