Have any of ever done this or had it happen to you?

So today I was hunting. As always I get REAL high in a tree with my climber. I usually take a saw with me to cut branches so I can go higher. I use a length of 550 paracord 40ft long. I generally go till the cord gets tight. So today I was sitting on the back of a cutover with the Range finder 648 yards to the road on far end and 500 yards to pine thicket on my right. So being this high in the tree it makes me pretty visible to other hunters especially when they see the board and know where I'm signed in. I was sitting in my stand and saw a bright reflection by the road. So I pull out my trusty 10 power binoculars and low and behold a moron is looking at me with his flipping scope.
Now how many of you have used your scope as a spotting scope?
How about to check out something you saw move?
What about when your in the stand and you think you saw a deer?
Bottom line is none of these is acceptable. Binoculars or spotting scope until you are sure of your target. I was VERY nervous today. So much so I got behind the tree so he couldn't see me anymore and climbed down. He didn't drive out in the open where I could see the truck, he parked in the woods and walked to a tree to use as a brace. I went and took all my stands out of the woods and called the camp president and told him what happened and that there were people in the woods not signed in which happens all the time. Bottom line is there are many non-thinkers and some out right criminals in our camp and someone is gonna get hurt someday so I'm getting out of a deer camp I have been in for 5 years because of this.

Had people scope me (use their scope to see who I am) and thus point their probably loaded rifle right at my head.

I have always told folks in my shooting part before entering the woods, that if I see you scope me, I'll assume you intend to shoot me, so I'm going to shoot first.

As for unknown shooters doing it to me I've generally done what you did and duck for cover and if possible when the coast is clear, find them and chew them a new one, then find a Game Warden and inform them of the idiot.

This kind of stupidity is one of the reasons I don't hunt anymore.

Yeah I chewed a guy out the other day about not signing in and he told me he was gonna kick my ass. So kinda thought it might have been him.

People like that should have their hunting and for that matter, 2nd amendment right privileges revoked, what a Richard Cranium - think about it, it'll come to you.
